I’m Cheeks

Rooted in the vibrant world of street art, Cheeks infuses work with the unapologetic spirit of the city. Discovered by a local art group, they were welcomed into the thriving street art and mural scene of Charlotte. Guided by this artist collective, Cheeks honed his skills in painting large-scale murals, mastering the art of spray paint, and managing a successful art career. From this foundation, they embarked on a creative journey that would redefine their artistic path.

Since then, Cheeks has flourished, collaborating with esteemed events and organizations such as Talking Walls Mural Festival, ArtPop Street Gallery, Southend Arts for the annual The Rail Trail public art installation project, and the Luminous Lane Mural Jam for the Charlotte SHOUT art festival two years in a row. This multifaceted involvement speaks to their dedication to shaping the visual landscape of their community and beyond.

Cheeks's artistic vision goes beyond the surface. Their work stands at the crossroads of realism and surrealism, often blending these elements seamlessly in their mural creations. They captivate audiences by depicting larger-than-life human figures navigating their existence, whether in dynamic action or through the symbolism of the objects they carry. Surreal creatures, which have become a hallmark of their work, add an ethereal dimension to their narratives. These murals explore themes of work-life balance, self-reflection, and the presence of guiding entities.

Discover the captivating world of Cheeks's art by exploring their portfolio. From the raw energy of street art to the intricacies of studio craftsmanship, Cheeks invites you to join them on a visual adventure that defies conventions and celebrates artistic diversity.
